Ray Buchanan is Founder and President of Stop Hunger Now, an international relief organization based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mr. Buchanan founded Stop Hunger Now in 1998, following an 18-year career as the founder and co-director of the Society of St. Andrew, a Virginia-based, domestic food relief organization. An ordained United Methodist minister, he is fueled by the vision of ending hunger in his lifetime and, to that end, has dedicated himself to helping those in the greatest need.

To date, Stop Hunger Now has distributed over $100 million in direct relief to the world’s poorest and most hungry. Working through third-party implementing organizations, Stop Hunger Now provides immediate relief in the face of natural disasters and political instability. Leveraging its strong network of contacts, it brings surplus food to areas of the world that need it desperately at little or no cost for either the food or the transportation.
