Trump will pay for SOME Things…just not ALL Things

Does anyone else besides me see a pattern here? It’s the exact same pattern I have observed in dozens of third world dictatorships. What we now have in the Offal Office is a rampaging ego with tiny hands, fake hair, and a large mouth.

at least someone is safe

Eighteen school shootings in the first sixteen weeks of 2018. We just keep setting records, don’t we?

When is enough enough? How many victims of gun violence do we have to tally before we realize that this unbridled carnage cannot continue?

How long before we realize that the NRA lobby is paying untold millions to our Representatives and Senators to keep them safe and allow them to prosper?

The body count of the innocent doesn’t matter. What matters is the bottom line for the NRA and the complicity of Congress.

Resistance Alert

PAY ATTENTION, tRUMP/REPUBLICANS ARE TRYING TO SHUT THE MUELLER INVESTIGATION DOWN! WE MUST NOT LET THAT HAPPEN!! WE WANT THE **TRUTH!!** STAY WOKE & RESIST!!

I marched in opposition to the Second Gulf War, both in Washington, DC and New York. I spoke out to any who would listen about the grossly immoral actions our nation were taking. I made my voice heard.

Now, I will continue to speak out against those in power who are tearing apart our country and ripping up the very fabric of American society. I see #BLOTUS creating a dangerous personality cult that is far to similar to what Hitler did in Germany in the 1930s. We are already at the place where those in power can enrich themselves while ignoring the needs of the poor and middle classes.

History shows us where this road leads, It isn’t pretty, and it isn’t a place I want us to go.

Trump’s greed and his message of hate must be resisted at every opportunity. I will again take to the streets if the Trump-Russia investigation is derailed by any means. The right to peaceful protest needs to be used while it is still a right.

Where are the patriots?

As more and more of the Republican in the House and Senate blindly join in lock-step to support #BLOTUS, we have to understand the depth of their treasonous behavior. They are putting self interest above their sworn duty. And they know that is what they are doing.

The president should be held fully accountable for all his disgusting words and actions. In my opinion that means impeachment and criminal charges. And if his toadies (is their a better word?) refuse to do their duty, they need to be removed from office and replaced with patriots.

If we do not use the gift of our citizenship we deserve what we currently have. And that is more than sad. It’s pathetic.

are you outraged?

Very.

Somehow, it doesn’t seem right that the #BLOTUS should be allowed to continue ignoring the wishes of Congress. Just like, Is there no accountability? Trump needs to be impeached as rapidly as possible. He is a traitor that cares for no one but himself.

the first 1,000 days

The excerpt of the article that follows, by Lauren Weber, is another red flag for the health of our country. The first 1,000 days are critical in providing the necessary nutrition for proper development of the brain. Malnourishment during this window from conception to two years of age will impact children for the remainder of their lives.

More Than Half Of American Babies Are At Risk For Malnourishment

The first 1,000 days of nutrition can set a child’s course for life or perpetuate a cycle of poverty.     By Lauren Weber

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. ― The nutrition children receive during their first 1,000 days ― from conception until their second birthday ― has a profound impact on how they develop. Without the proper nutrition during that window of time, young brains will not grow to their fullest potential, diminishing the kids’ opportunities for the rest of their lives, according to public health and medical organizations.

But while the World BankUSAID, the World Health Organization and UNICEF push to improve early nutrition among impoverished communities in developing nations, there has been much less emphasis on the first 1,000 days in the United States. That’s not to say that all is well here: Over half of the country’s infants are on nutritional assistance and the top vegetable eaten by U.S. toddlers is the french fry.

Last week, the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a groundbreaking policy statement highlighting the importance, and irreversibility, of the 1,000-day window.

“Failure to provide key nutrients during this critical period of brain development may result in lifelong deficits in brain function despite subsequent nutrient repletion,” the AAP Committee on Nutrition said.

In other words, no amount of catch-up can completely fix the lost time for brain formation. Malnourishing the brain can produce a lower IQ; lead to a lifetime of chronic medical problems; increase the risk of obesity, hypertension and diabetes; and cost that individual future academic achievement and job success. The impact can even be generational, perpetuating a cycle of poverty for lifetimes to come.

It’s unclear exactly how many kids in the U.S. are malnourished, but there’s some disturbing evidence: A quarter of toddlers don’t receive enough iron, 1 in 5 children are obese, 1 in 6 households with children are food-insecure, and over half of infants participate in the federal Women, Infants, and Children program for supplemental nutrition.

These children’s futures are at stake, said Lucy Sullivan, executive director for the nonprofit 1,000 Days, which advocates here and abroad for better early nutrition.

“The first 1,000 days matter for all the days that follow.”
