It goes without saying that most good people don’t have a dozens of sexual assault claims against them, or over 2,500 lawsuits, or even a single accusation of rape of a minor. But then, most good human beings are not self-avowed sexual predators or pathological liars, either.
There seems to be absolutely no limit for Trump’s base. This is especially true for the white evangelicals.
This says far more about evangelical Christianity in our country than it does about the lying sleazebag in the offal office, but it does raise a couple profound theological questions.
Is Stormy Daniels going to be the new saint of the religious right? Is there any connection between white evangelicals and the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Maybe someone could introduce them to the New Testament.
Every society has its own acceptable norms. What #BLOTUS is doing to the norms of this country is frightening, Personally, I think he is the leading factor in changing what is considered acceptable behavior in our society.
His behavior and his actions are not reflective of who we are as a nation. He isn’t a leader we want our children to emulate. We cannot allow him to normalize behavior that should never be accepted in a free and democratic society.
There are times to be tolerant. And there are times to be rigorous in the defense the morally accepted standards of civilized behavior. Allowing the #BLOTUS to get away with his lying, nepotism and scoffing at the law is putting us on the wrong path. We are living in a dangerous time for democracy as we know it.
