The Trump News Channel continues to do an excellent job at what it was designed to do. Almost 40% of citizens in our country listen to, watch and actually believe everything they see and hear from this propaganda machine.
It is sad. It is frightening. And it is far to dangerous to ignore.
It’s not fake news that dictators and totalitarian leaders throughout history have recognized the need to silence those who tell the truth. An honest media always poses the biggest threat to those who would misuse power.
The first step in controlling that media is to discredit it. I find it fascinating that we never heard of fake news until we got a fake leader. Coincidence? I think not.
Who are we to believe? The Liar-in-Chief is pathologically unable to tell the truth and changes his story every other day in spite of video evidence to the contrary. On the other side is the free press.
As for me, I am sticking with, and standing up for a free press. Their credibility has stood the test of time, and a free press is our best defense available against scoundrels, thieves and dictators like all those listed above. And right now, we need the best defense we can get.
Even George Orwell couldn’t have imagined this amount of doublespeak and overt lying. #BLOTUS is the undisputed “Lord of the Lies.” Bruce Riedel lets us know once again that our Liar-in-Chief cannot be trusted.
And now the Cheetos-colored, wannabe king is verbally attacking one of our biggest allies in the Middle East. Is he truly this stupid?
We now live in an age of fake news, consistent and uncontrollable lying from the highest office in the nation and supposedly intelligent political leaders opening denying the scientific claims and clear evidence of climate change. Blind belief in anything has become more dangerous than ever before.
We need to question everything, and that includes our own beliefs. But, Einstein is absolutely correct. Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of the truth.
