Every society has its own acceptable norms. What #BLOTUS is doing to the norms of this country is frightening, Personally, I think he is the leading factor in changing what is considered acceptable behavior in our society.
His behavior and his actions are not reflective of who we are as a nation. He isn’t a leader we want our children to emulate. We cannot allow him to normalize behavior that should never be accepted in a free and democratic society.
What is actually frankly disgusting is that the United States has a leader so ignorant of history, and so morally bankrupt that he cannot comprehend that a free press is one of the bulwarks of a democratic society. We need more investigative reporting, not less.
What is actually frankly disgusting is that Congress refuses to act to remove this incompetent and dangerous moron from office he holds. History will condemn their failure to act as a complete betrayal of the public trust. The press needs to hold Conress accountable.
The press needs to “double down” on their scrutiny of the #BLOTUS to ensure the entire world knows what a greedy, racist dotard he truly is. As long as the #BLOTUS is in the White House, we need to rename his space. It’s no longer the Oval Office. It has officially become the Offal Office.
The issue of a free press is becoming ever more critical as the #BLOTUS ramps up his rhetoric and his attacks against the mainstream media. A vigorous and robust Fourth Estate is essential to keep politicians and power groups accountable to the public.
Now is the time to support the press as never before. We cannot allow the Liar-In-Chief to muzzle those responsible for shining the light of truth on all his illegal, and some would even say traitorous, activities.
With no one watching, and no one reporting, the powerful can get away with whatever they desire. A free press is there to protect our freedoms that many would take away from us one piece at a time.
The GOP attacks on the press, led by the #BLOTUS is not surprising. Those that slither in the dark never want the light of truth to reveal their actions.
All of us need to do whatever we can to support journalists and reporters, and all the investigative digging that is done to keep us free.
We are known by the company we keep. At least that’s what my mom always told me.
This morning, I just saw Russian agents meeting with the #BLOTUS in the White House. This is one day after firing the head of the FBI who was investigating his treasonous ties to Russia. From the photos I could not tell who had the biggest smiles. The #BLOTUS was definitely enjoying hosting his friends.
What is blatantly obvious, however, is that the current leader of our nation is far more comfortable with dictators, thugs, and strongmen than he is with the rule of law and the dictates of the Constitution.
The #BLOTUS covets absolute power. Anyone with the courage to challenge that power will be eliminated. FBI Director Comey wasn’t the first to feel his ire, and sadly will not be the last.
I served 4 years (1966-1970) in the Marine Corps. While in the Marines I learned a phrase that has stuck with me. Actually, I think all veterans are familiar with it as the phrase is common in all branches of the military.
The phrase is SNAFU. It is an acronym for Situation Normal All F&%#ed Up.
This is where our nation is headed under the #BLOTUS. We are heading for a huge and historically ugly SNAFU. And I, for one, don’t want this period to be normal for the United States. I don’t want my country to be characterized by the arrogance, greed, and pathological lying of one man.
We cannot allow this administration to be normalized. It isn’t who we are. And I hope it isn’t who we want to become.
We must not forgive that we have rights. Some of these rights are already under attack by the #BLOTUS administration. We all need to speak up to defend the basic rights granted to the American people by our Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
The right of a free press is already being targeted. And the right to assemble is also receiving pressure. This is a dangerous and slippery slope, and the first steps of any totalitarian regime. We all must stand up for every one of these rights.
