Truth is where you find it, right? When I saw this photo it stopped me cold. I would not ever allow a child or a grandchild of mine say the things or act the way the Liar-in-Chief speaks and acts.
I am confounded that a third of our country sees the man as a leader and a good role model. His gross immorality and blatant lack of ethical behavior is abhorrent. Yet, numerous white evangelical leaders continue to choose him over the message of the Gospel.
Tomorrow night is the State of the Union Address. For the first time in history we need to make sure we protect our children from watching.
This powerful statement is engraved on the side of the Department of Justice Building in Washington, DC. It is always worth remembering, but especially in times when those in power are working so hard to undermine the precepts of a lawful society.
I fully support the fine men and women who have dedicated their careers and their lives to ensure our nation abides by the rule of law. The work of the Justice Department is critical to our freedom.
All those currently in power who are attempting to discredit and and undermine the efforts of the DOJ do so because they are afraid of the truth and fear justice being done. They neither believe in the supremacy of the law, or feel that the law applies to them.
They act as if they are above the law. Robert Mueller and the Justice Department will soon correct that very mistaken understanding.
I fought to protect the right of my fellow citizens to have the freedom to demonstrate their beliefs. What might be disrespectful or offensive to me might be a deeply held belief for someone else. We have become far too sensitive to “slightly offensive behavior,” while totally ignoring and turning a blind eye to truly offensive actions that we need to speak out against.
We owe a debt of gratitude to the journalists and reporters whose work is to make sure the truth is exposed and the public knows the facts. Too many have too much to hide. It’s the dedication and commitment to the truth that is the bedrock of our freedom.
There’s a huge difference between healthcare and wealthcare. We truly do not need more tax breaks for the wealthy of our nation, especially at the price of taking away medical care for those most at risk, Our democracy needs an immediate and life-saving transfusion of a 50/50 solution of justice and compassion.
