not angry, disgusted

When those we have elected to lead us fail as dismally as those we now have in leadership, they need to be removed as fast as legally possible and replaced with those who understand that they are elected to serve the citizens, to the other way around.

Words are insufficient to describe my shame over the lack of character displayed by those Senators who continue to support such a critically flawed human as Donald Trump. Such a complete absence of moral leadership deserves nothing but contempt and revulsion.

Those in Congress who refuse to speak up should not be allowed any position of political leadership. They are cowards at best, and treasonous at worst.

a friendly reminder

cb829a6cbc3721c9d726906f7ab5dcb2.jpg (650×650). Billy Graham is quoted as saying...'46% of the and attend with you every Sunday are NOT Christian."

Mainline Protestant churches are in steady decline, and rightfully so. It is a heavy indictment against evangelical leaders when the vast and overwhelming majority of evangelical church members openly support someone whose morals and actions are diametrically opposed to Jesus Christ.

Not only is such a degree of Biblical illiteracy simply stunning, the complete unawareness of who Jesus was and His basic message is beyond my comprehension. Even more damning is the fact that most evangelicals do not care about Trump’s racism, lying, greed and basic immorality.

Churches filled with members who openly support the exact opposite of all Jesus did and taught are no longer churches of Jesus Christ. Call them whatever you wish. They deserve to be closed, and the sooner the better.

naturally selfish…who knew?

So now he’s all over being selfish? Don’t think so.

Nothing has changed as far as I can see. He’s still the same greedy, egotistical racist as he was in 1990. Oh, except that now he has the power to enrich himself and demonstrate just how little he cares for the rest of the people of this nation. Will we ever learn?

The Case For Impeachment

Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, a co-author of the Federalist Papers — and an immigrant himself — argued that “high crimes and misdemeanors” could be defined as “abuse or violation of some public trust.” This president has clearly already exceeded these standards. Congress has impeached past presidents for far less.

                                                                                                                                            Tom Steyer, October 18, 2017

There comes a time when it is painfully obvious that the public trust has not only been violated, but abused, so badly that action has to be taken. Trump has clearly, and I would add, even intentionally exceeded any standards required for removal from office. This president was unfit before Russia put him into office, and he has done nothing to redeem himself in the year since.
Instead, he has continued to lie, to mock the Constitution and our rule of law. He has continued to flaunt his power and make a mockery of true American values. His unmitigated greed and hubris knows no limits.
There is a solid case for impeachment of this president. Now, we all need to encourage ALL our representatives to execute their responsibilities and start the proceedings. (And those refusing to do so should pay the maximum penalty at the polls.)
There comes a time when talking is not enough. The time has come for action. #BLOTUS needs to be impeached. He is a traitor, and needs to be treated as such. The time has come to demonstrate our values are not his values.

MAGA…really?

The man in the offal office controls the Executive branch of the government. His party controls both the Senate and the House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court leans right, as well. And #BLOTUS still whines about the obstructionist Democrats.

He has been in office for almost a full year.  Just what exactly is his definition of making America great again? His tiny legacy, like everything else connected to him is a shameful failure that demonstrates a dangerous lack of morality and an egotistical focus on personal greed.

stand up and speak out

thank you Will...Lets try this..... William Faulkner

I’ve spent the majority of my life working to end hunger. I know from personal experience that by working together we can change the world. It starts with speaking up for those who cannot be heard and standing up for those who cannot be seen.

Faulkner says it far better than I can. Read his quote again. But,  achieving a world of peace and justice, a world where honesty, truth and compassion holds sway, is possible. We can achieve a world where caring trumps greed, lying, and hatred.

I want that world. Let’s stand up and speak out, and let us not be afraid to continue speaking out until we transform our world into a place where love truly trumps fear and hatred.

The GOP Tax Plan Illustrated

Sometimes it can be difficult to get our heads around the massive injustice of the GOP tax plan. The numbers are staggering, and the sheer immorality of the Republican leaders is beyond comprehension.

The illustration above is an attempt to give a graphic picture of the reality of what’s going down. #BLOTUS and his Republican cohorts are desperate for a win, and they are obligated to pay back their mega donors. This tax bill will do both while most of us will suffer the consequences.

Every concerned/outraged citizen needs to contact their representatives and shout/scream “NO.” And we need to do it now.

unacceptable norms

Every society has its own acceptable norms. What #BLOTUS is doing to the norms of this country is frightening, Personally, I think he is the leading factor in changing what is considered acceptable behavior in our society.

His behavior and his actions are not reflective of who we are as a nation. He isn’t a leader we want our children to emulate. We cannot allow him to normalize behavior that should never be accepted in a free and democratic society.
