our silence is complicity

Silence in the face of unmistakable human rights violations is not golden. Such silence is unadulterated yellow.

One current example is the unbelievable violence against young black men in this country by law enforcement officers. White suspects are not shot 10 or 20 times.

These are human rights violations that I am used to seeing in dictatorships and third world nations without a functioning rule of law. This violence has to stop. It’s time to police the police.

a heart full of love

This has always been true. Now, however, it is becoming more critical than ever to both understand the importance of this, and to develop these assets to their fullest. Only by working together will we be able to make this world a place safe for all our human family.

the things I cannot accept

Each of us have the ability to help create a better world for all of us. We do not have to accept the values we do not believe are right, and that do not reflect who we are. We have the power to change the world.

We have the power to create a world where love, compassion and caring becomes the norm. I, for one, will not give in to those around me spewing hatred, fear, bigotry and racism. I will continue to fight for a world where human rights for all are accepted and promoted.
