a new saint for white evangelicals?

LiberalLou (@JerashkimBrown) | Twitter

There seems to be absolutely no limit for Trump’s base. This is especially true for the white evangelicals.

This says far more about evangelical Christianity in our country than it does about the lying sleazebag in the offal office, but it does raise a couple profound theological questions.

Is Stormy Daniels going to be the new saint of the religious right? Is there any connection between white evangelicals and the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Maybe someone could introduce them to the New Testament.

It’s U

R_ssian Coll_sion? It's U

Collusion with an enemy is treason. Allowing a president to continue supporting and defending a country and a leader that is attacking our country is treason. Supporting and defending a president engaged in treason is complicity.

If you need examples, look no further than the Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee voting to shut down the incomplete and deeply flawed investigation into Trump’s relationship with Russia. They, and every member of Congress that is still standing with Trump, are complicit in his crimes against our nation.

Everyone of those refusing to call Trump to account needs to suffer the full consequences of such traitorous actions. Offering aid to our enemies is treason. Protecting our enemies is treason. Keeping traitors in office is complicity in treason.

fighting for the enemy

Frightening, but TRUE!

At this point, this isn’t conjecture. It’s a fact. Our president will do anything necessary to protect Russia.

No one is allowed to attack Putin for any reason. Everything else is fair game. But, publicly  agree with all our intelligence agencies that Russia has, and is attacking the US on a regular basis, and you are gone, even if you retirement is just days away.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the #BLOTUS would defend the US instead of Russia?

Dereliction of Duty

The ongoing Russia attacks on our democracy is a clear and present danger. In response, heavy sanctions were overwhelmingly passed by Congress. Trump has refused to implement the sanctions. WHY?

The refusal of the president to protect our country against known attacks on our nation is a clear dereliction of duty. He has continually attacked all our intelligence, law and justice agencies, yet will not say even one critical word concerning Russia.

He is serving Russia’s interest far more that the interest and safety of the country he was elected to protect. When is his obviously dangerous preferential behavior going to be checked?

When is this lying, racist Russian lackey going to be condemned as the traitor he is? When is he going to finally going to be impeached?

Good People

Donald Trump is not a good person. I know that. You know that. Hell, the entire civilized world knows that.

As a fitting conclusion to his first year in office he and his toadies shut down our government. Reprehensible is the first word that comes to mind. He is much like a terribly spoiled three-year old who still believes he’s the center of the universe.

But, this isn’t about the greedy, cheating, racist, lying, sexual predator we have as our country’s leader. This is about good people. Good people know when to stop defending those who do not deserve defending.

Donald Trump doesn’t deserve defending. If you are a good person, stop defending him.

history’s simple test

Yup.

Donald Trump’s actions, and the attitudes behind them, are not normal for a leader of the free world. We all know that.

To remain silent in the face of such blatant lying, constant bullying, and morally disgusting racism is the same class of cowardice that allowed Adolf Hitler to come into power. The issue is not about party politics. It is far larger and far more consequential.

The issue is about basic human decency. The issue is about moral integrity. Are we going to allow such radical hate to continue destroying what our nation has always represented, or are we going to stand up and speak out in resistance to the clear destruction of our values?

As Mr. Rather states, history will judge us. The test is not difficult, but it requires us to act now. I have already answered. I will not be silent and I will not be complicit. I will resist. What about you?
