a new saint for white evangelicals?

LiberalLou (@JerashkimBrown) | Twitter

There seems to be absolutely no limit for Trump’s base. This is especially true for the white evangelicals.

This says far more about evangelical Christianity in our country than it does about the lying sleazebag in the offal office, but it does raise a couple profound theological questions.

Is Stormy Daniels going to be the new saint of the religious right? Is there any connection between white evangelicals and the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Maybe someone could introduce them to the New Testament.

being grabbed by the…

Here is another quick snapshot of what it looks like when leaders do not give a damn about representing the people they were elected to serve. This is outrageous. None of those moving for these cuts would be impacted by them as they have the best health benefits imaginable.

The only impact for them is an “attaboy” from the #BLOTUS and millions of dollars in campaign funds from the Koch brothers. This isn’t leadership. It’s our elected leaders “grabbing us by the…” It’s rape.

Anyone following this story who isn’t outraged isn’t paying attention.

a step backwards for humanity

 :

I have never met Graham Holloway, and I do not know anything about him. What I do know, however, is that he has a keen grasp of reality and isn’t afraid to tell the truth.

Mr. Holloway has expressed the unbelievable hypocrisy in our nation and called it what it is. The United States has given up on doing what is right and is moving both backward and downward.

I want a leader that exhibits basic morality and human decency, one who understands and embraces the concept of servant leadership.

a special kind of courage

What would our world look like if more of us had the special kind of courage lifted up by Queen Elizabeth? My fear is that far too many of us refuse to stand up for our convictions. We refuse to speak out for what we know is right, for what we know is the decent alternative.

We make the choice to be quiet, to remain silent in the face of immorality and evil. We allow those with power and riches to make choices and take actions that cause harm to millions of our human family and to rape our planet for greed and profit.

That could change if we had the special kind of courage spoken of by the queen. If we all stood up and made our voices heard we could have a world with justice for all and not just for the rich and powerful. But, that takes a special kind of courage.
