U.S favorability down everywhere but Russia

Photo published for U.S. Image Suffers as Publics Around World Question Trump’s Leadership

This is what happens when you have the biggest liar in U.S. as your leader. No one can trust him or us anymore. #BLOTUS is destabilizing the entire world while he flaunts his immorality and ignores the Constitution and all it stands for.

before and after (part 2)…

Here is another small illustration of the difference a year makes. The world’s confidence of our nation’s leadership and our doing the right thing just continues to plummet as the world realizes we now have a lying, egotistical clown in our highest position of power.

Who do we trust for our safety?

The Scripture tells us that our safety does not come from military power. The Old Testament is full of the prophets telling the people not to trust the weapons of war to protect them. There’s a clear message that hoping to find security through the military is a dangerous and  false hope.

The Bible tells the people of faith that “our hope is in the name of our Lord, who made both heaven and earth.”  It’s a message we desperately need to hear and to heed today.

We have the largest military budget the world has ever seen. No other country, no other 12 countries, spend as much on national defense as the United States. This is not just wrong. In a world where we have 20,000 of our human family dying daily from hunger and malnutrition, spending this amount on military defense is both abhorrent and morally repugnant.

We can end hunger in the next 15 years according to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. But we will never do it wasting hundreds of billions of dollars on wasteful, unnecessary, and sinful military spending. It’s time to trust in the Lord.

ignorance is not a virtue

Ignorance is not, and has never been, a virtue. Neither is lying. This is what is so disconcerting about the approval and election of #BLOTUS to the highest office of our nation.

The almost incomprehensible ignorance and the continuous torrent of unabashed lies of #BLOTUS boggles the mind and turns the stomach. I remember when the President of the United States could be both trusted and respected. It’s only been a month, but already seems like a different age.

“in God we trust” (wrong)

Our true values are diametrically opposed to the values taught by Jesus the Christ and the precepts and teachings of the Bible. Our values are wealth, power, greed and selfishness.; none of which Jesus taught or practiced.

Faithfulness means a lot of different things to different people. But lets not confuse the misplaced values of our immoral society with the practice of loving everyone we meet even more than we love ourselves.

a prayer for world peace

A Prayer for World Peace

by Jane Goodall

We pray to the great Spiritual Power in which
we live and move and have our being.
We pray that we may at all times
keep our minds open to new ideas and shun dogma;
that we may grow in our understanding of the nature of all living beings
and our connectedness with the natural world;
that we may become ever more filled with
generosity of spirit and true compassion and love for all life;
that we may strive to heal the hurts that we have inflicted on nature
and control our greed for material things, knowing that
our actions are harming our natural world and the future of our children;
that we may value each and every human being
for who he is, for who she is,
reaching to the spirit that is within,
knowing the power of each individual to change the world.We pray for social justice,
for the alleviation of the crippling poverty
that condemns millions of people around the world
to lives of misery – hungry, sick, and utterly without hope.
We pray for the children who are starving,
who are condemned to homelessness, slave labor, and prostitution,
and especially for those forced to fight, to kill and torture
even members of their own family.
We pray for the victims of violence and war,
for those wounded in body and for those wounded in mind.
We pray for the multitudes of refugees, forced from their homes to alien places
through war or through the utter destruction of their environment.We pray for suffering animals everywhere,
for an end to the pain caused by scientific experimentation,
intensive farming, fur farming, shooting, trapping,
training for entertainment, abusive pet owners,
and all other forms of exploitation
such as overloading and overworking pack animals,
bull fighting, badger baiting, dog and cock fighting and so many more.We pray for an end to cruelty,
whether to humans or other animals,
for an end to bullying, and torture in all its forms.
We pray that we may learn the peace that comes with forgiving
and the strength we gain in loving;
that we may learn to take nothing for granted in this life;
that we may learn to see and understand with our hearts;
that we may learn to rejoice in our being.We pray for these things with humility;
We pray because of the hope that is within us,
and because of a faith in the ultimate triumph of the human spirit;
We pray because of our love for Creation, and because of our trust in God.
We pray, above all, for peace throughout the world.
