This snapshot of those listening to Trump’s speech at the UN is priceless. It really does capture the moment better than words. This is what happens when a “dotard” gets to play in public.
Leadership comes in many shapes and sizes. None of them is a fit for the #BLOTUS. He is an egotistical, racist bully that brings shame and disgrace to the office he holds and to all that our nation represents. Some might even call him a war monger.
In reality, however, he is just a tiny little man, a spoiled brat who has never been made to grow up and face the consequences of his tantrums. Now, the entire world is being made to suffer from his hunger for power.
#BLOTUS is speaking at the United Nations. That in itself is frightening. Even more frightening is the clear and present danger of a third world war that begins with two morons having a pissing contest.
I have never called it duty, but I love this quote by Bukowski, my favorite contemporary poet. My entire adult life has been consumed with a burning desire to create a world without hunger. That focus has led me to over 100 countries and more areas of conflict and devastation than I can count, and it has introduced me to an entire world of caring and compassionate people who live to make a difference in the lives of those most in need.
Now, as the flames are starting to burn a little less intensely I am gratified to see that the world has finally realized that ending hunger in our lifetime is a significant priority. I am gratified to see that the United Nations has set a measurable goal of ending hunger by 2030.
Whether I see a hunger-free world or not, the ashes of my life will forever hold the warmth of all those who have given themselves to this grand, glorious and world-changing vision. Thank you, one and all, for caring enough to help end hunger in our lifetime.
The amazing work being done to eradicate polio by UNICEF, Rotary International, and the Gates Foundation is a great example of successful collaboration to attack a major global health issue. As a member of Rotary I have seen how committed our organization has been to #endpolio. Seeing the excellent work being accomplished and realizing that we will create a polio-free world inspires me to do even more to create a world without hunger.
My entire adult life has been devoted to ending the scourge of hunger. Now, the United Nations has set a sustainable development goal to end hunger within the next 15 years. My prayer is that by 2030 our polio-free world will also be a hunger-free world. Working together we can make it happen.
