richest Senator of the poorest State

Term Limits! NOW!!!

Mitch McConnell is a traitor to the United States. For the past three decades he has enriched himself while destroying the basic precepts of our country. How he has been reelected is another question that needs to be answered, as well.

What I do know is he needs to be immediately impeached and removed from office. The time served behind bars should be limited to the time spent in office…

Vote as if we believe the Gospel…

We are living in an age where our every word, our every action, must clearly demonstrate our faithfulness to Jesus Christ. This constant and consistent demonstration of discipleship includes using the gift of our citizenship to live an intentional lifestyle of love and compassion. That means we must use our opportunity to vote to stand up for the true values of the Gospel.

We must vote. And we must vote for love and compassion.

why?

Today is a defining moment in the history of our nation. I have already cast my ballot for the next President of the United States. And if you have not voted, I urge you to go to the polls before the day is done.

The future of our nation is being determined by our actions today. I know the kind of country I long for, and I know the qualities and values I want to see in my President.

It is also exciting to think that we are again making history. We have had eight years of strong leadership with our nation’s first African American President. Now, we can hopefully look forward to having our first female President.

Today is the day. Please vote. Nothing else is as important. Whatever else you do today, vote.

acknowledging reality

Much has been made of President Obama’s recent statements  delivered in Florida. I am in the camp that believes the statements should have come much sooner, been far more forceful, and followed with stronger action.

It’s past time to acknowledge reality, accept the scientific data, and come to the realization that we are destroying this beautiful planet we call home. Ignoring the truth before our eyes cannot be excused, especially by those in leadership.

Many of our political leaders live inside a bubble of wealth and privilege, completely out of touch with reality. They are too blinded by greed and partisan politics to acknowledge the truth of climate change.

Shame on them. And shame on those who vote to keep them in office.

We need to openly address climate change and be honest enough to call a spade a spade.  The words “global warming” are not obscene. The real obscenity ignoring them and not acknowledging reality.

I applaud the President’s statements. Now, let’s see something more than just words.
